Own a unique piece of prehistoric ocean history with this 5.12" Indonesian Megalodon tooth, professionally sourced from the mineral-rich fossil beds of West Java, Indonesia. Known for their striking coloration and dense mineralization, Indonesian Megalodon teeth are highly sought after by collectors for their dramatic appearance and incredible preservation.
This specimen showcases beautiful multicolored gray/tan/black enamel, sharp serrations, and a rare double tip pathology. Please note that the root and part of the bourlette have been restored. Shed by a large adult Otodus megalodon during the Miocene–Pliocene epoch (3–15 million years ago), this fossil represents a remarkable chapter of Earth's ancient marine history.
If a fossil is restored at Fossil Driven, we always do our best to disclose and show the restoration. We do not purposely try to scam or mislead people.
This Indonesian Megalodon tooth features stunning dark, multicolored enamel, a restored dense root, and sharp serrations with a rare double-tipped pathology. Indonesian specimens often display some of the most visually striking enamel colors found anywhere in the world due to unique sediment chemistry.
Highly collectible and visually impressive, this tooth is an excellent addition for both new and experienced fossil collectors, especially those building regional, color-variety, or pathological Megalodon collections.
This Megalodon tooth was discovered in the prehistoric marine deposits of West Java, an area rich in fossil shark material. Over millions of years, minerals in the surrounding sediments seeped into the tooth, creating the beautiful coloration Indonesian fossils are known for today.
These deposits are often found in inland areas due to ancient shifts in sea levels—providing a window into the vibrant coastal ecosystems that existed millions of years ago.

Otodus Megalodon was the largest predatory shark to ever exist, reaching lengths of 50–60 feet and feeding on whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals. During the Miocene and Pliocene epochs, it dominated warm oceans across the world, including the region that would eventually become modern-day Indonesia.
