An overall nice & large chubutensis shark tooth from South Carolina. The chubutensis is the evolutionary father of the megalodon shark. So the teeth from this shark are a tad bit older than megalodon teeth. Chubutensis teeth are usually found on the smaller side ranging from 2 to 3 inches most of the time. It’s rare when you see a chubutensis tooth hit 4 to 5 inches. This specimen would have came from an adult chubutensis shark with a length of about 35 to 40 feet.
