An overall nice & large chubutensis shark tooth from South Carolina. The chubutensis is the evolutionary father of the megalodon shark. So the teeth from this shark are a tad bit older than megalodon teeth. Chubutensis teeth are usually found on the smaller side ranging from 2 to 3 inches most of the time. It’s rare when you see a chubutensis tooth hit 4 to 5 inches. This specific tooth is from the May River where chubutensis teeth are commonly found. They tend to have some beautiful colors to them and are normally really sharp. This tooth has some great color to it along with some killer sharp serrations. This specimen would have came from a juvenile chubutensis shark with a length of about 25 - 30 feet.
